- SS Master at the Maple Bay Marina Wooden Boat Festival, Vancouver Island, British Columbia
The 14th Annual Maple Bay Wooden Boat Festival will be held at Maple Bay Marina on May 15th through 17th, 2009. This is one of the earlier boat festivals that we get to enjoy on Vancouver Island during the year. Typically over 75 boats of all sizes participate.
Past years have seen some old classics arrive such as the SS Master built in 1922, the only remaining wooden hulled steam tug in North America and Glendevon, a 1944 ex Canadian Navy tug that has been lovingly restored. Numerous other boats also take part from small rowing skiffs to beautifully made new wooden cabin cruisers.
Other displays include the Maple Bay Model Boat Regatta with amazingly detailed radio controlled boats for your viewing pleasure. The Shipyard Restaurant and Marine Pub is always a welcome stop and has excellent food. Hope to see you there!

This is for Mike Wright I was wondering if you have or know someone who has the plans for the tugboat SS Master. I am extremely interested in building it as my fifth tugboat model.
Thank you, Jim
