Godfrey-Brownell Vineyard, Cowichan Valley, British Columbia

Godfrey-Brownell Vineyard is located about a hour north of Victoria in the heart of Cowichan Valley. It is owned and operated by Dave and Ellen Godfrey. The Godfrey’s did not get into the wine making business until they were approaching their sixties. After buying the land the vineyard sits on and doing some research Dave found out that the land used to be owned by a cousin of his Grandmother Brownell, hence the name Godfrey-Brownell.

The wines available at Godfrey-Brownell include: White – 2005 Chardonnay and 2006 Bacchus; Red – 2003 Pinot Noir Reserve, 2002/2003 William Maltman and 2002 MarĂ©chal Foch Reserve. You may buy wine by the glass or bottle.

The winery is open seven days a week from noon to five. Godfrey-Brownell encourages you to bring a picnic lunch and enjoy sitting at the oyster-shell patio. The vineyard is also available for weddings and private parties.
