Cowichan Wine & Culinary Festival 2010

Celebrate, celebrate, celebrate the bounty of the Cowichan Region.  The 6th Cowichan Wine & Culinary Festival starts off with a culinary bang featuring a sumptuous buffet, wines and music at Cherry Point Vineyard Friday evening, September 17th.  Throughout the weekend, you can sample wines at many of the Cowichan’s fabulous wineries, have a crisp cider at Merridale Cidery, cool off with some organic ice cream at Organic Fair, buy wonderful fresh organic veggies at O.U.R. Ecovillage (where you can also take in a seminar ).  Choose your favourites among Hilary’s fabulous artisan cheeses to take home with you (along with the wines you will buy, of course.  Is there anything more delicious than wine and cheese?).  Take the load off your feet and enjoy an old fashioned hay ride at Alderlea Farm.  A couple of gorgeous –and very strong – wine glasses from GBS Glass Blowing  would make a great souvenir of the weekend – and you can even watch Grahame Fowle’s work his blow torch magic on simple glass.  There are fabulous dinners available at some of the wineries and at some of the Cowichan’s best gourmet restaurants.  To find out more about the wineries and restaurant and other participants, please check out the website at wines.cowichan.net.
