Honeymoon Bay Outdoor Market, Cowichan Lake, Vancouver Island
We finally had an opportunity to visit the Honeymoon Bay Outdoor Market in conjunction with the Honeymoon Bay Blackberry Festival. While the weather wasn’t perfect, a trip to Cowichan Lake is always an adventure and we discovered the funkiest outdoor market in the Cowichan Valley. The stalls are made from “found” objects and recycled wood giving the market a somewhat “Frontier Town” sort of feel. From the SS Minnow serving up fresh prawns to local Cowichan Lake organic produce and locally made craft items this market was really fun.

Every Saturday from May – Thanksgiving 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM and on Sundays during long weekends in historic Honeymoon Bay on Vancouver Island’s popular Cowichan Lake, Honeymoon Bay hosts an outdoor market featuring local fruit and vegetables, nursery stock, baking and preserves, prawns in season, a variety of arts and crafts, music and much more. Located on Southshore Rd in downtown Honeymoon Bay.

The Cowichan Valley Region has numerous farmers’ markets. The concept is the same at all of them; providing high quality and healthy goods made or grown by the folks selling them. Everything is available from baked goods and fresh vegetables to crafts, clothing items and local photography. Most of the markets are held on Saturdays with the exception being the Chemainus Evening Market on Wednesday evening and Cobble Hill being on Sunday.
