Cowichan Bay and the Cold Weather

I headed down to Cow Bay (really Cowichan Bay, I guess the name is a little long for many) a few days ago after a heavy snow and below normal temperatures. While this isn’t that abnormal in the Cowichan Valley the present temperatures do make one dream of heading south or west where the temperature is a little more on the “warm” side. Come to think of it, that’s exactly what I try to do every winter for at least a month.

Coastal Celebration

Being on an island has a tendancy to isolate you a little from the rest of the world. In today’s economic crisis this can sometimes be a godsend. I think islanders are a little more “self sufficient” than others and the idea of getting goods and services “NOW” just doesn’t really happen very often. We have all managed to slow our lives down and maybe spend more time enjoying our surroundings and spending time with friends.

Part of this “slow down” is the result of being at least a few hours away from the chaos and hustle of the urban centres

Major update of Cowichan Valley Photos

I performed a long overdue update of this site today, adding over 1,000 images of the Cowichan Valley area and adjoining region. Please visit the photography section to view the new images. Highlights include a large selection of Aerial Photographs.
